How This Safety Trainer Got 3 New Proposals In His First Week Live

How we helped a mine-safety trainer go from a stalled launch to three new proposals in his first week of content, plus a pipeline big enough to cover his whole investment.

"We launched on Wednesday and I've already got three proposals from people who saw me and are interested."Frank Quarato · CSEM

Background

Frank Quarato runs CSEM, providing mine safety and health training. He speaks for a living, but he'd never done video, he doesn't read a teleprompter well, and early on he couldn't even stand watching himself on camera. He'd also had a bad marketing experience the year before, spending a lot of money and seeing nothing for it. His content had been, in his words, "dead in the water."

On top of that, his first editor wasn't the right fit, but without a point of comparison, Frank admits he might have held onto the wrong person for six or eight months before realizing it.

The Process

When Frank's first editor wasn't meeting the quality bar, we stepped in, made the call, and placed Victor. From the very first edit, Frank says the difference was "black and white."

Victor took Frank's raw delivery and made it smooth, clean, and professional, a real representation of CSEM. Where Frank once dreaded watching his own videos, he started getting excited to post them. The two now talk every day, and Victor brings ideas for expanding Frank's exposure further.

The Results

Within his first week of putting out content, Frank went from a stalled launch to a filling pipeline.

1) Three new proposals in the first week. Frank launched his videos on a Wednesday. By that same week he was already looking at three brand-new proposals from people who'd found him and were interested, something he hadn't seen from anything he'd tried before.

2) A high-value client from one video. An operator who runs a gold mine in Reno saw Frank's online presence and videos and said, "I knew you were the real deal." That single opportunity involves scheduling around 18 people and could cover the cost of his entire engagement in one exposure, plus an invitation to their safety conference, where other mine sites struggle to find quality trainers. He also received a validating comment on a YouTube video from an MSHA compliance officer.

3) Confidence, sleep, and a second business. Frank went from dreading video to being "hooked." He's sleeping better, and the results gave him the confidence to launch a second venture, expanding from a business-to-business model into business-to-consumer, something he says he'd never have had the confidence to do otherwise.
