How A Brand-New Business Reached Buyers Beyond Its Local Market

How we helped a new business owner go from social media overwhelm to a dedicated editor producing content that pulls in buyers well beyond her local network.

"It's taken so much stress off my shoulders because that was a huge stress point for me."Christy Connors

Background

Christy Connors is launching a new business she's passionate about. Like a lot of founders, she knew a real social media presence was non-negotiable for getting it off the ground, but she had no idea how to build one.

She'd only ever used social media personally, the way most people do. Doing it for a business was a different world: she didn't know the tools, the terminology, or how to reach anyone beyond the people she already knew. That gap sat on her constantly. Not knowing what she was doing, in her words, was "a huge stress point."

She needed the presence. She didn't want to become a social media manager to get it. She needed someone she could hand it to and trust.

The Process

We presented Christy with a shortlist of vetted editor candidates and let her pick the one she felt was the right fit. She chose Carl, and told us the only hard part was that every candidate was strong enough to make it a tough call.

From there we walked her through onboarding step by step and kept it simple. Even with no background in this space, she found the whole thing seamless. Carl took over her content across YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, and Facebook, building a library ahead of launch, then getting it live.

Very quickly, the setup did exactly what she needed: it pulled the work, and the stress, off her plate entirely so she could focus on running her business.

The Results

Handing off her content gave Christy her time back, her focus back, and a way to reach people she never could on her own.

1) Content that reaches beyond the local network. Christy's husband put a tracker on their website, and they're now seeing views from all over, not just the local audience she already had. Those out-of-area views are the ones she's most excited about, because they're people she'd have had no way to reach. Her first YouTube long-form and her short-form videos across TikTok, Instagram, and Facebook each pulled in hundreds of views, on brand-new accounts.

2) Social media stopped being a source of stress. The thing weighing on her most is now fully handled. It "gives me the freedom to be able to do what I actually need to do", one less thing to carry while juggling everything a launch demands.

3) A trusted partner, and a won-over skeptic. Christy said she'd "a thousand percent" come back to place her next editor rather than start from scratch. Even her husband, who began as a "huge skeptic," came around once he saw it working.
